Mr Alessandro Aina
After obtaining the I.S.E.F Diploma in 1979, Mr Aina received a Diploma in Physiotherapy in 1986. In 1991 he began his training in the methodology of Diagnosis and Mechanical Therapy (D.T.M. - Robin McKenzie). After completing training in Italy, Mr Aina went to the U.S.A. in 1995 and was awarded a Diploma in D.T.M in 1996. Back in Italy, dividing his time between that of a physiotherapist, instructor and secretary of the McKenzie Institute (Italy), Mr Aina published scientific works in national and international journals. Continuing to update his knowledge in Italy and abroad he has attended several post-diploma courses (Souchard, Maitland, Butler, Hodges, Mulligan, McConnell, Watson, Njis).
In 2006 with work on the centralization of symptoms, Mr Aina won the Isico award as the best Italian article appearing in international scientific journals. In 2007, he left teaching to devote time to the profession, deepen his understanding of chronic pain, and helping patients with chronic pain. Since 2014, collaboration has been with the degree course in physiotherapy at the Vita-Salute University, Ospedale San Raffaele, Director of Ft. Dr. Roberto Gatti. Mr Aina’s research and experience have resulting in authoring studies on centralization and derangement; in-depth, reproducible and low-tech functional evaluation; attention to chronic pain; increase of function through pain management and increasing performance; and self-treatment programs to reduce the possibility of relapses.
Having presented on many occasions on a range of topics involving diagnosis, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal problems Mr Aina will lead the workshop ‘Retraction Refined: the Art of performing Retraction Optimally’ encompassing both theory and practical.
