Bio
Dr Firas Mourad received his Physical Therapy degree from the University of Brescia. Subsequently, he completed a PhD degree in Health Sciences at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. He has continued to cultivate his physical therapy knowledge and practice by completing the Orthopedic Manipulative Physical Therapist (FULL IFOMPT) program from the University of Genova; Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Ulster University in Belfast; a Certificate in systematic review and meta-analysis (Full Cochrane) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and courses including dry needling, spinal manipulation and vestibular management.
Firas has presented numerous guest lectures internationally for physical therapy programs and at conferences. He is the IFOMPT Member Organization for Italy with the role of coordinator for the educational monitoring level and quality of all the Italian Masters Programs in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Firas has published original experimental research, clinical trials, case reports, and literature reviews in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.
Currently, Firas is a Senior Instructor for the Spinal Manipulation Institute, Dry Needling Institute and American Academy of Manipulative Therapy and lectures in the IFOMPT Post-Graduate master’s degree at the University of Tor Vergata Roma and the Under-graduate Physiotherapy degree at the University of Brescia. Firas remains an active clinician as the owner and clinic director for the outpatient PHYSIO POWER clinic where he treats an array of challenging headache and musculoskeletal patients on a full-time basis. He is also a community leader, educator and mentor to many physical therapists and inspires to motivate others in his passion for physical therapy.
